courteous key ring

The traffic department has launched a Courteous Driver Campaign where motorists who obey the rules of the road and treat other road users with consideration may now, at any time, be pulled over for a key ring, or an engraved pen.
Asked whether, in times of high crime and jangled nerves, it is reasonable to pull people over when they haven’t committed an offence, Lourens says there is “absolutely no reason” to be afraid, as the unmarked vehicles are equipped with blue lights and a siren, and officers are dressed in full uniform.
“We haven’t had any problems yet,” she says.
Those who are truly afraid have two options. One is to drive to their nearest police station – making sure to indicate to the officer that they’re doing so – and deal with the matter there.
